A new rule for canning. This is for my special friend, Andrea Shelton and others that need help. I can now buy you a case of food without you going. Woohoo..... I'll buy it in my name and you will pay me. I think this is great!!! We have a new Brother and Sister who are over dry canning and they feel that whatever I do with the food I buy is none of their business. It's the "No Ask, No Tell rule" This needs another Woohoo!!!!!! Now, you probably know I won't be buying you 6 cases, But a case + is fine each month. Let me know each month what you would like to get and we will work it out. Karen

Square Foot Gardening
I went to a awesome Enrichment this week. It was for men and woman and I was surprised how many men were there. The evening was totally turned over to Don Dayley. He has been gardening in Gilbert for 15 years. Before that he was from Idaho where he found his love of gardening but he now is an expert in our valley gardens. He shows you how to make a 4 X 4 foot garden divided into 16 squares. It holds about 25o plants. He gives you sites that tell you exactly when to plant everything during the year and what goes in your start-up garden. That takes time and money but you start your own compose then and in a season or two you have your own compose and things get easier and cheaper. (It is also called "The Rocking Chair Garden" because all you do is sit and watch your garden grow.) That sounds good to me!
He is willing to come to any Enrichment Night or any night for just him to present his class. It is so worth it even if you are just thinking about a garden. It lasts about an hour and a half depending on how much talking is done and how many questions. My Mom grew up in the depression, but she never knew it because where ever she lived, her Mom always had a vegetable garden. And once they even lived in a chicken coop. I wouldn't have believed her but she showed me it when we were visiting friends in the area. They also had chickens. Ha!
This man knows everything and I will invite him to talk to us if we have enough interest. Let me know? You would bring your husbands if you can get them to come. I could do his talk but believe me, it wouldn't be the same.
